Our "New" House
Lakeshore Ave.
Grand Haven, Michigan

Last March we moved into our new home about 4 miles south of our previous house in town. It's a contemporary-style house similar to the one Andrea and I had outside of East Lansing. It's situated in what the topographical experts call the "Backdune Forest". As the name implies, it's on the back side of the huge Lake Michigan sand dune that is covered with dense forest (check out the pictures below to see how dense the forest is). Like all houses, we have to do a bit of work to make it to our liking (hence the animation of Sisyphus at the top of this page).

And Now For Some Pictures...

The house (actually a bit of the garage) from the road -- very private indeed.
Another shot from the road. You can see the driveway to the left and the north side yard below and to the right.
This is the north side of the house from across the yard. We have just over 1 1/2 acres of property.
Another picture of the north side yard from the house with the fountain in the front of the picture.
Here's one final shot of the house from the north yard.
Here's the front door -- notice the copper "Sun Man" we picked up last year in Key West.
The sand dune from the living room window. The deer come out here every day to snack on the raspberry bushes (notice them in the front of the picture).
One of our new 'neighbors' sitting in our front yard (the owls obviously go to the front while the wild turkeys usually stay in the back yard -- where they tend to eat from the bird feeder).
