Questions:

Important Notes/Rule Clarifications:

• Question 1-3: Pretty straight forward questions.
• Question 4/4a: While the questions are obviously related, each part is scored separately.  You can completely mess up one part while still scoring points from the other part.
• Question 5: This question refers to saves by all Tigers.  Of course, only saves recorded by Tigers are counted.  If a pitcher is traded half way through the season, only his saves while he was a Tiger count.  Likewise, if we acquire a pitcher halfway through the year, only the saves he records as a Tiger are counted.  Any previous saves of his are not included.
• Question 6: Same rules as question 5.  Only K's recorded while a Tiger count.
• Question 7: This is a combined total.  We're looking for the total number of shutouts thrown by all the Tiger pitchers.  Again, they only count while they are Tigers.
• Question 8/8a: Like question 4, each part is scored separately.
• Question 9: The player must be a non-pitcher who has played in at least 40 games.  The player must have the highest batting average at the end of the regular season.
• Question 10: Looking for the total stolen bases by all Tigers.
• Question 11: Again, total Grand Slams by all Tigers.
• Question 12: We're looking for the first month of the year in which the Tigers have at least one more win than loss at the end of the month.  I am NOT looking for the month in which the Tigers first post a winning record.  In other words, if they lost every game in April and managed to just win two more games than they lost in May, then May would be the correct answer.  They posted a winning record in May even though their over all record would still be far below .500.  The sole March game is considered part of April.  An answer of no winning month obviously means you don't think they will have any month over .500.
• In the event of a tie for any category, the full points will be awarded if you picked either of the people involved.  For instance, if you picked Pena to have the most homeruns and Munson and Pena both tied for the most, you would get full credit.  If you picked a tie, there would need to be a tie for you to get full credit.  For instance, if you picked Pena and Munson to tie for the most homeruns and Munson had the most, you would get no credit.  In other words: It doesn't make sense to predict a tie.  You get no advantage.

Due Date: 

April 1st, 11:59pm, changes to predictions may be made to previously submitted entries at any time up to this point.  Any entries entered after this date will be ignored.  I will be very busy this year so please give me some time to get your prediction online.  If you're worried that I didn't get your submission, email me at the address below and I'll double check to see if I got it.

Revising predictions:

If you need to make a revision, you will need to email me at this address: ctb_me @ softhome . net.  PLEASE indicate the name you used when submitting the form so I know where to make the appropriate changes.

Why do I ask for an email address?  Two reasons.  First: I like to email you to let you know that I've received your prediction and added it to the list.  Second: If you omit an answer, or submit an answer that seems like a mistake (such as typing 333 saves instead of 33 saves) I like to be able to point out your error and give you an opportunity to correct it.  I will NEVER share or sell your email addresses, they are purely for use with this contest.
