Questions:

Specific Rules for the questions:

• Questions 1-3: Pretty self explanatory.
• Question 4: While being an "offense" question, this question includes all TDs scored. Passing, Rushing, Returns, Fumble Recovery, and Interception TDs all count towards the final total.
• Question 5: Points are award based on the player who "scored" the points.  In other words, if McMahon throws a TD pass, he does not get the points for that TD, the receiver would.  However, if he rushed for a TD or was the receiver on a TD pass he would be awarded the points.  PLEASE NOTE: Both parts of question 5 are scored separately.  For instance, if you called the correct player, but completely blow the number of points, you still get credit for the "player" portion.  Likewise, if you call the wrong player, but nail the correct number of points, you get credit for the second part of the question.
• Question 6: Note that I'm looking for total receiving YARDS here from all players.
• Question 7: Again, total YARDS from all players.
• Question 8: As in question 5, the two parts are scored separately, so you can score points for half of the question if you get the other half completely wrong.
• Question 9: Total Tackles = solos + assists.
• Question 10: Total sacks of all Lions players
• Question 11: I'm looking for total yards on returns from both kickoffs and punts.
• Question 12: Obviously, because the due date for this contest is after the first road game, it wouldn't be fair to include that one.  So, regardless of the outcome of the Bears game, I'm looking for the first road win AFTER that game.  Note that it is the FIRST road win I'm looking for.  If you predict it is the November 14th game in Jacksonville and the Lions win October 24th game in New York, you will NOT receive any points for this question, even if the Lions win the Jacksonville game.
• Name: What name should you use?  Well, whatever name you want to, really.  I don't care, I will just post what you type (unless it's very obscene). But remember, this is a contest for the newsgroup, so you'll likely want to use the same name you use in the newsgroup so if you win, everyone will know who you are.  Alternately, if you're sure you're gonna lose, I suppose you could use any name you wanted to remain anonymous.
• Email address: Why do I ask for your email address?  Two reasons: First, people will sometimes make more than one prediction forgetting that they made one last week or something.  Don't laugh, it happens!  Anyway, with your name and email address, I can ensure that you didn't accidentally make multiple predictions.  Second, people will sometimes make a typo.  If I see an answer that I suspect is a typo (for instance, you may had predicted 370 receiving yards instead of 3170) I'll email you to ask for clarification on that answer.  Note that I will NEVER share, sell, or post your email addresses anywhere. 

Important Notes:

• In the event of a tie for any of the questions asking for a player, points will be awarded for any of the players involved.  For example, if Boss Bailey and Dre Bly tie for the most INTs, and you guessed Bailey you would get full credit for that question.  However, if you guess Bailey and Bly to tie getting the most INTs, and Bailey got the most you get NO credit for that question.  (To put it simply: It doesn't pay to guess that two players will tie.  Don't do it!)
• As a helpful tool, I've listed the answers to questions using last years stats on the first line.  Hopefully this will get you in the right area for the questions.
• At the end of the regular season, stats from the Detroit Lions homepage will be used to determine a winner.
• Please note that this contest is only "for fun."  There is no award beyond bragging rights in ASFPDL.  If you find errors in the stats or anywhere else, I'd like to be informed, but I may not be able to make changes in a timely manner.

September 14, 2004; 11:59pm I will accept submissions made up to midnight on this date. Changes to predictions may be made to previously submitted entries at any time up to this point.  To make a change to a previously submitted prediction, you must email the correction to me.  Here is my email address:  ctb _ me AT softhome DOT net.  (Obviously eliminate the spaces and add the appropriate punctuation items.  Don't forget the underscore "_" between ctb and me.)

Roster Changes:

Due to the lateness of this contests start date, there will be NO extended period of revisions due to major changes in the Lions roster at the last minute.  You will still be allowed to make any revisions to predictions prior to the deadline listed above...which graciously allows you to view the first game against the Bears before making a final prediction.
