• Tour de Wyoming, July 17-22. The ride began and ended in Worland, Wyoming and went through the towns of Ten Sleep, Buffalo, Dayton, and Basin. There were 350+ riders.

• Michigan Mountain Mayhem, June 12, 2010. 100 mile race. 10,000 feet of elevation. 600 some riders.
• Climbing “The Wall.” From the city of East Jordan, a couple of miles of increasing slope and the last 200 yards are 17 to 20% grade.
  

2009

• Bicycle Tour if Colorado, June 21-27, 2009, 500+ miles. There were 1600 riders.
• Grand Mesa. The second tough climb of the trip.
• At the summit of Cottonwood Pass. The highest climb.
• Cottonwood Pass. View west into the prevailing wind just five minutes before a sleet storm hit. I saw it coming from the elevation marker and ran to my bike. I descended the mountain at an average of 40+ mph. The downdraft from the storm blew me on the flat into Buena Vista at 35 mph. I didn't have to pedal. Rain hit just after I pitched my tent at the campsite. Luck only.
• On the road to Indepdence Pass, Colorado. The last big climb of the trip.
• The summit of Independence Pass. Lots of tired people.
  

• DALMAC, September 3-6, 2009, Quad Century, 4 days, 400+ miles, Lansing to Mackinac City. There were 2400 riders on all the routes but only 160 on the QC.
