In March 2001, the Michigan DNR was awarded a grant from the Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund (CESCF). The grant is being used to develop and implement a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for the threatened Karner blue butterfly (KBB). The plan is being written by the DNR and partners with Karner blue butterflies on their property who are interested in participating in a collaborative process of protecting the butterfly and its habitat.

This website is a cooperative effort between the Michigan DNR and the GVSU Biology Department. HCP-related materials released by the Michigan DNR to the public are posted on this site.
