1/30/2004 -- Public comment sought on Karner Blue Butterfly Habitat Conservation Plan

Michigan Department of Natural Resources officials announced today that they are seeking public comment in the development of a Habitat Conservation Plan for the federally endangered Karner blue butterfly. A public comment sheet is available to be printed and mailed or turned in at the public meeting. Comments may also be emailed to lergj@michigan.gov or faxed. The 60-day open comment period will run through February and March; all comments must be received by April 1, 2004.
