1.  How does Machiavelli view history?  How does he use examples from the past when discussing present day politics?
2.  Does Machiavelli value human beings?
3.  Does Machiavelli value education?  Why or why not?
4.  What is Machiavelli’s opinion of the Christian church?  
5.  What is Machiavelli’s opinion of violence and instability?  What purpose do they serve?
6.  Is Machiavelli a Renaissance thinker?  (You probably can’t answer this until you’ve heard my lecture – but you might want to think about it as you read.)
