Today, her mother, Sue Serra, brought Maria, a 6y/o girl, to the ER. According to the Triage nurse, Mom had received a phone call from Maria’s school to pick her up from the nurse’s office. Maria had been crying and would not urinate because she was afraid it would hurt. Her mother took her immediately to the ER for an exam since she usually checks when her daughters have a complaint. Maria and her sister are usually not inhibited in telling and showing their mother any irritation or rashes on their bodies. This time, however, Maria would not let her mother look at her body.
