I shamelessly stole this idea from Dancing Light Gear.

Put a cordlock on a nylon rope and then thread it through a small nylon sac,
then back through the cordlock. Then tie an knot in the end. To the other
end, attach a biner which will be used to connect to your food sack.
The small sack is used to hold a rock so you can pitch it over a limb. It
also stores your rope when not being used. The biner allows you to easily
remove and attach the food sack.
