Dan and Kim Isbell live in what looks like a typical suburban family home with their son. They have all the amenities one would expect: an array of kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, television, vcr, cordless phone, etc. The difference is that all these appliances are running on electricity generated by the sun and wind. Elemental Electric is a six minute, 16mm film which observes the power and elegance of small scale wind and solar energy production in action. Dan Isbell comments on how it works, its impact on their family, and the future of home energy production. As the film closes, the wind turbine whirls steadily in the fall wind, the solar panels point into the sun, and the suggestion lingers--this may be one energy solution people are ready for.
