Rolling blackouts and rising electricity rates have prompted calls for more fossil fuel and nuclear power plants to meet demand. But there's another way to bring more power online. A growing number of people making their own power from the sun and wind want to share their excess power over the utility grid. The only problem is many utilities don't want to allow this. This documentary features Richard Perez of Home Power Magazine, two of the original Guerrilla Solars, future Iowa wind farmers, and a grass roots coalition of renewable energy lobbyists all striving for small scale renewable energy distribution. It shows the struggles they face, how they challenge and subvert utility resistance, and why renewable energy distribution just makes common sense.
