Station 1

 

This station is located a short walk from the Nature Center building in Fitzgerald Park along side of a pond that is the site of the old American Vitrified Products Company quarry. In this exposure, 2 distinct sandstone units are separated by a coal bed (see photo). Click on any unit on the photo or below to learn about it.
